All I ask is you bare with me for these first few. I'm new to this blog thing,but if prodigy is getting pub from it,then fuck it. I'm C.T.G. Dope MC from Anchorage,Alaska who is down in NC right now just trying to fit in and stand out all at the same time. Its some what of a challenge to try to promote music that sounds like nothing around me. I love it, don't get me wrong,But I guess it's the pride or possibly the ego that won't let me dumb down to the bull shit. I feel like 22-26 don't have any MCs representing us. We have rappers out that can get down but it's like our generation got eclipsed by the ringtone regulars. Don't get me wrong; The music business is thriving economically more than it ever has in history. I'm not sure if it has to do with "The South" not wanting to be competitive and rather unify or what. The unity is beautiful,but I look at it like a crutch. It's great to see niggas get money together,but I rather niggas get money and then meet up. If you guys all doing the same shit,you are a uniform. Nothing new. Carbon copies,etc. You can say when MCs up top was holding the flag, They had mad different clicks. The only thing they had in common was there birthplace. Diversity is the key to evolution. Unity kills. I'm sorry. That's just the way I feel. I'm not saying you can't collaborate,but when it gets to the point where you all sound the same, That's BS. Lil Wayne was not even mentioned as an MC until he was given up north tutoring. Real talk. Face,Luda,and Outkast are like the only cats that transcend where they are from. Little high,Few zannies,and Miller Hi lifes got me babbling. I'm out....
